The user fee of vehicles involved within the transportation of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) has been exempted, the govt said on May 8.
“To supply uniterrupted route for tankers and containers carrying liquid medical oxygen (LMO) on national highways, user fees are exempted for such Vechicles at toll plazas.
This decision has been made keeping in sight of the present unprecedented demand for medical oxygen within the country as a results of the COVID-19 pandemic, it said.
“Waiver of payment of user charges on toll plazas will ensure faster speed of medical oxygen on national highways, Ministry of road transport and Highways said.
Currently, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) already gives such vehicles priority passage to make sure seamless transportation of vehicles.
As per the govt , instructions have also been issued by NHAI to all or any its officials and other stakeholders to help the govt and personal efforts to fight the pandemic in helping them in pro-active manner
