PM Narendra Modi and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata on Saturday took a jibe at one another while addressing simultaneous rallies in poll-bound West ‘s Hooghly and North 24 Parganas districts.While PM Modi, during his rally in Hooghly, asserted that the “game is over” in West , Banerjee, while addressing in North 24 Parganas, said that she is going to win the battle of Nandigram.

Banerjee also asked “minorities in West ” to return in large numbers and vote for the TMC to avoid vote division. She also said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to divide West and its people but the TMC won’t allow it.

PM Modi, on the opposite hand, claimed that the BJP will provide a “double-engine government” in West which give employments and built new industries within the state.

“Government which will be formed on May 2 won’t only be a double engine government, but it’ll even be government which will give double benefit, direct benefit. Decision to implement PM Kisan Samman Nidhi are going to be taken initially Cabinet meeting. I will attend the oath taking ceremony of C.M,” PM Modi was quoted by ANI as saying.

The Prime Minister also imposed a ban of the people of the state for ”insulting and insulting” and expressed confidence that the BJP would win the Assembly elections in 2021.

This year, West will see a triangular contest between the TMC, BJP and therefore the Congress-Left alliance. The TMC claims that Banerjee will get her third straight term while the BJP, buoyed by its success within the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, hopes to show the tables.

Polling for the primary two phases of the West polls were persisted March 27 and April 1 respectively. subsequent phase of polling will happen on April 6.
