Lucknow : getting to provide relief to the poor suffering thanks to the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday transferred 230 crore in the bank accounts of 23 lakh daily wagers, said a statement by the UP government.
“Be it the dream of building a house, proper treatment for illness, cost of education or the necessity of monetary help in any mishap, the government is there with you at every step,” Mr Adityanath said on the occasion..
Referring to the COVID-19 management within the state, Mr Adityanath said within the past a year and a half, when the whole world was grappling with the pandemic, Uttar Pradesh has managed to bring the outrageous situation in check through collective efforts of the govt and its people.
“The total population of UP is around 25 crores and today the state with half our population is reporting as many new COVID cases in a day as we have done in total.,” he claimed, adding that the state has the simplest recovery rate within the entire country.
He appealed to the people to get themselves vaccinated and follow the COVID protocol.
