NEW DELHI: The Centre on Tuesday said door-to-door vaccination against Covid-19 might not be feasible, whilst it asked states to make sure 100% saturation of vaccination of the priority age bracket of these above 45 years within the next fortnight, particularly in high burden districts seeing a surge of fresh cases.
Despite rapidly rising number of Covid-19 cases, vaccination is yet to select up in many natio ns . the govt is expecting a quick uptake in vaccination from April 1, when all those above 45 years become eligible to receive the shots.
“We now have the arrogance to accelerate vaccination. People must hand over hesitancy and embrace the vaccine,” Niti Aayog member- Dr V K Paul said.
While India administered over 6.2 crore doses of vaccines till 7 pm on Tuesday, only about 90.1 lakh people are fully vaccinated since January 16.
However, the govt maintained that door-to-door vaccination wasn’t feasible with an injectable vaccine for adults and there might be safety concerns in conducting the activity outside settings.
